RemaSawco receives order from Vika Wood

RemaSawco received an order for 6.3 MSEK from Vika Wood SIA, Latvia. The order comprises a complete system for optimisation, quality sorting and strength grading to be installed in the new dry sorter being built at the Vika Wood sawmill in Latvia. The software includes RS-BoardScannerQ with additions RS-StrengthGrader and RS-EndSorter. Commissioning is planned for August/September 2018.

Together with this project, RemaSawco will upgrade the log sorting station. Amongst other things, the ergonomic operator's chair RS-FlexCon will be added.

”We are very happy and proud that Vika Wood has chosen RS-BoardScannerQ to be a part of their new high performance dry sorter. RemaSawco and Vika Wood have a long history of close cooperation, which is now further strengthened and deepened", says Johan Friberg, Managing Director of Image Systems.

”It is also satisfying that we, after our success in Estonia, are breaking new ground in the Baltic countries with Vika Wood and our first delivery to Latvia", Johan Friberg continues.

Vika Wood is one of Latvia’s leading, and largest, sawmills with a total annual production of about 260 000 m3 of sawn timber.Vika Wood is located in the western part of Latvia, between Riga and Ventspils, just 12 km from Talsi. The sawmill’s products are sold worldwide, for example, in the Far East, Middle East, Northern Africa and Europe. Vika Wood is a subsidiary of Norvik Timber.
